La Massana is an urban centre 1.240 m above sea level, with a beautiful surrounding nature and offers lots of activities due to the proximity of the VALLNORD ski area.
The parish is extremely mountainous and place of Andorra’s highest mountain named “Coma Pedrosa” with its 2,942 m. The snow tends to retain on its top until summer starts.
La Massana has several other high mountains such as Medacorba 2914 m, Sanfonts 2888 m, Pla de l'Estany 2859 m and Racofred 2837 m.
The parish has an area of 65 km² and adjoins the neighbouring parishes of Ordino, Encamp, Escaldes-Engordany, and Andorra la Vella.
A number of small villages belong to the La Massana parish: Pal, Arinsal, L’Aldosa de La Massana, Anyós, Erts, Sispony, Escàs, Xixerella, Mas de Ribafeta, El Pui and Puiol del Piu.
La Massana offers all necessary facilities, several shops and a private heliport.
La Massana is only 6 km from the centre of Andorra la Vella, with excellent public transport connections, both to Andorra centre and to the ski resorts Vallnord and Grandvalira.
In addition to the Andorran, French and Spanish schools, the prestigious private school “Col.legi dels Pirineus” is to be found in the village of L’Aldosa de La Massana.
Access to the ski centres is secure with gondolas leaving from La Massana and Arinsal, but the Vallnord ski stations are accessible by road during the whole year as well. The ski area of Pal and Arinsal connected with a ski gondola.
